Terms of use

Last updated 30 October 2026

Draft: this text is being reviewed and may change before launch.

These terms apply to FlickX Player (“FlickX”): the apps for Android TV, macOS, iPad and Windows, the device portal and this website. FlickX is provided by FlickX, [legal entity, address], the Netherlands, Chamber of Commerce (KvK) number [KvK number], VAT number [VAT number] (“we”, “us”). You can reach us through Contact.

1. What FlickX is, and what it is not

FlickX Player is a media player. It doesn't include channels or content. You need your own legal source.

FlickX is a media player. It plays streams and files from sources that you add yourself, such as a media server you run at home, a TV tuner on your network, or a playlist (Xtream Codes login or M3U link) that a provider has given you. We do not sell, supply, host, index, recommend or link to any channels, films, series or playlists, and we have no relationship with any content provider. Your subscription pays for the player software and its sync features only.

2. Your sources and your responsibility

  • You may only add sources that you are legally entitled to use, and only watch, record or download content for which you have the necessary rights or licences in your country.
  • You are solely responsible for the sources you add and for the content you play through them. Your agreement with your provider is between you and that provider.
  • Downloading for offline viewing is only allowed where your source and the rights holder permit it.

3. Prohibited use

You may not use FlickX to:

  • play, record, share or redistribute content without permission from the rights holder, including streams from unlicensed services that offer pay-TV channels, sports or films without the rights holders’ consent;
  • circumvent technical protection measures (DRM) or geographic restrictions in breach of the law or of your provider’s terms;
  • sell, rent or advertise devices or apps preloaded with FlickX together with unlicensed playlists or sources;
  • modify, decompile, resell or redistribute the apps, bypass the licence check, share device keys, or attack, overload or probe our servers;
  • do anything else that is unlawful or infringes the rights of others.

If we have good reason to believe that a device is used in breach of this section, we may suspend or end its licence, after informing you where the law allows, without a refund of the current period. Modified apps are refused automatically.

4. Trial and licence

Every device gets one free 14-day trial with all features, starting the first time the app contacts our server. No payment details are needed for the trial and it ends automatically.

After the trial, using FlickX on a device needs a subscription of €2/year per device, including VAT. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the app on the one device the subscription is linked to, for as long as the subscription is active. A licence cannot be moved to another device. The software remains ours.

5. Ordering, payment and automatic renewal

  • You subscribe on the device dashboard (MAC address + device key). Payment is handled by our payment processor Stripe. The contract is concluded when the payment is confirmed; you receive a confirmation and invoice by email.
  • The subscription runs for one year and renews automatically for another year at the price shown at that time, unless you cancel before the renewal date. We tell you about a price change at least 30 days before it applies; you can then cancel before it takes effect.
  • You can cancel at any time, with effect from the end of the current paid year, under Manage billing & invoices on your device dashboard. There is no notice period. After cancelling, FlickX keeps working until the end of the paid period.

6. Right of withdrawal (consumers in the EU)

As a consumer you normally have the right to withdraw from an online contract within 14 days without giving a reason. Because the subscription unlocks your device immediately, we ask at checkout for your express request that we start right away and your acknowledgement that you lose the right of withdrawal once your device has been unlocked. If you give that consent, the right of withdrawal ends when your device is unlocked.

If you did not give that consent, you can still withdraw within 14 days of the purchase by sending us a clear statement through Contact (with your MAC address). We then refund you within 14 days, minus a proportionate amount for the period you already used where the law allows this. Details are in the refund policy.

7. Your playlists and data

Playlists you add on the website are stored encrypted and sent only to the device they belong to. Favourites, progress and watched status can be synced between your devices. How we handle personal data is explained in the privacy policy.

8. Availability, updates and conformity

We aim to keep FlickX and its servers available and to provide the updates needed to keep the app working and secure during your subscription. We do not guarantee that every provider, stream format, codec or device works with FlickX: please use the free trial to check this. We are not responsible for your provider’s service, its availability or its content, or for interruptions caused by your network or by events outside our reasonable control. If FlickX does not work as described, contact us; you keep all your legal rights regarding non-conforming digital content and services.

9. Liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability under these terms is limited to the amount you paid for the device concerned in the twelve months before the event that caused the damage. We are not liable for indirect damage, such as loss of profit, or for damage caused by content or sources you added. These limits do not apply to damage caused by our intent or gross negligence, to death or personal injury, or to any liability that cannot be limited under mandatory law, including your rights as a consumer.

10. Notices about content and infringement

FlickX does not host content, so we cannot remove a stream from a provider. If you believe FlickX, our website or our app listings infringe your rights, or that a FlickX device is being used to infringe them, send a notice through Contact or to [email protected], including: your name and contact details, the rights concerned, what you believe infringes them (for example a MAC address or a URL on our site), and a statement that your notice is accurate and made in good faith. We review every notice and act on it where appropriate, including under section 3.

11. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms, for example for new features or new laws. We announce material changes at least 30 days in advance on this page and, where possible, in the app. If you do not agree, you can cancel before the change applies. Changes never apply retroactively to a period you already paid for.

12. Complaints, law and courts

Send complaints through Contact; we answer within 14 days. These terms are governed by Dutch law. If you are a consumer living in another EU country, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of that country and may also go to the courts where you live. Otherwise, disputes go to the competent court in [city], the Netherlands.
